It is my sad duty to inform the EvE Community that Beagle Corp has formally shut down. I founded this corporation in January 2005 as a jack-of-all-trades outfit with no goals but to have fun. Since then we've tried just about everything EvE has to offer to a corporation; industry, alliance membership, mission-running, mercenary work, piracy. The pinnacle of our existence was our conversion to a full PvP corporation after the fall of Kaos Empire a year ago. Since that time, Beagle has thrived and grown; defeating alliance fleets in their home territories and roaming the galaxy with a no-blue policy and a no-holds-barred approach to combat.
However, all good things must come to an end. In October, the corporation was put into hibernation for a number of reasons, not least of which was my directors and my lack of play time due to real-life commitments. Anticipating that I would have less free time for playing Eve and running the corporation once we reactivated, I put several schemes in place to give corp members more autonomy and allow directors to take a more hands-off approach; including a complex operations management site using the Eve IGB. In January, we reactivated and started on a new road with new ideas and some new members. At first, everything seemed to be going relatively well, our campaign in Syndicate was a breath of fresh air; presenting us with new opponents and new problems to overcome. Our move to Querious was similarly successful; several notable engagements were had with FiX and Gunboat Diplomacy, as well as small skirmishes with BoB and the local corporations in Khanid itself. Unfortunately, the *****s began to appear once I became inactive last month due to college work taking up more and more of my time.
Not long after I became almost completely inactive, my best director, Chewan Mesa; the guy who helped keep Beagle running smoothly for almost 2 years, decided to move on and join a different corporation. The life of a director in a corporation like Beagle was never easy; there were always operations to plan and lead, loot to evaluate and split, applications to screen and daily small problems to sort out. In the end, real-life and stress caught up with us both. It was then that I decided to close the corporation altogether rather than let it whither and die over a period of months.
Several Beagles have already left to find new homes in corporations like 0utbreak, D00M and IEEX. I'd urge any competent PvP corporation looking for talent to get a hold of as many of the remainder as possible; these doggies are well trained and can smell a fight from 10 light-years away  . Over the past year we've developed complex setups and tactics which have proven themselves to be effective and unique; a former Beagle can teach you a lot.
To all of the friends and enemies we've made over the years, this is goodbye. I'd like to give a big shout out to some of our favorite foes; FLA, Morsus Mihi, Razor, D2, Pure, cDc, IRON, FiX and Veto; you guys gave us a reason to hop into our Battleships every weekend.
I am proud of what we accomplished as a corporation during our time in the EvE universe; we excelled at just about everything we tried and I have no regrets even now at the end. I like to think that we had a lot of fun together and that we made our enemies lives more interesting in the process.
